The challenge
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, administrative procedures for construction projects have historically been tedious, disorganized, and prone to corruption. To modernize this system, the World Bank introduced a software solution previously implemented in Togo— Construire au Togo.
The challenge was to adapt this software to the specific administrative and legal context of the DRC, ensuring it fit the realities of Congolese institutions and workflows.
The solution
I was responsible for the full-stack development and customization of the platform to meet local needs. Key features included:
- User Account Management: Architect and engineer registration, role assignment, and authentication.
- Integration of LOGIRAD API: Connected the platform with the Congolese taxation system to manage payments and taxes related to construction procedures.
- Access Management: Built a flexible access control system to manage user permissions throughout different steps of the administrative workflow.
Tech Stack Used:
- Backend: Symfony
- Frontend: HTML, CSS, jQuery
The results
Reduction in manual administrative processes.
APIs integrated to boost transparency and control.
Localization success adapting system from Togo to DRC.
